Starting in the summer semester 2020, the Sigmund Freud University Berlin offers a Bachelor’s Psychology Programme in English in cooperation with the SFU Vienna.
The Faculty of Psychology of the Sigmund Freud University emphasizes a cultural and social scientific perspective on the human mind and behavior. Therefore, our curriculum integrates a multi-methodological, practically oriented and socially conscious approach to psychological knowledge and practice. Our approach to research and teaching has three focal points: Theory, practice, and personal growth. If you would like to know more about the courses and contents of our programme, please follow this link or open the folder on the menu to the right.
Admission and Application
In contrast to public universities in Germany and many other countries, the SFU Berlin does not select applicants solely based on their grades. Besides formal criteria, individual qualifications for joining the program are assessed in personal interviews. If you would like to know more about the admission, please follow this link. If you would like to apply for our programme, you can do so via our online application form.
The International Office of the SFU Berlin supports student and staff internationalization and is the hub for the coordination of ongoing and new university partnerships, international relations, semesters abroad and internships. We serve as the contact point for international students, visiting scholars, universities and other organizations as well as for SFU Berlin students and lecturers who are interested in a stay abroad. If you would like to learn more about the International Office, follow this link.
The SFU Berlin offers different payment models and offers support in finding stipends. Detailed information about tuition fees and stipend programmes can be found here.
In accordance with European Union law and the Bologna criteria, graduates of the six semesters (three years) programme are awarded the title „Bachelor of Science“ (BSc.). This title qualifies graduates to continue their studies in a Masters programme at the SFU Berlin as well as any other public or private university that operates according to the Bologna criteria (also depending on more specific admission criteria that might be in effect at different institutions).
The Sigmund Freud University is accredited by Austrian law since 2005. It represents the largest private university in Austria and has established branches in Vienna, Berlin, Paris, Milano, Lubljana and Linz. All degrees awarded by the Sigmund Freud University are acknowledged internationally.
